VRC chairman reacts to Jamie Melham’s ‘very emotional’ Melbourne Cup win

Victoria Racing Club chairman Neil Wilson has given this thoughts on how Melbourne Cup day played out, and the historic win by Jamie Melham on ‘Half Yours’ in the big race.

It marked 10 years since jockey Michelle Payne won on ‘Prince of Penzance’, becoming the first female jockey to win a Melbourne Cup, with Melham adding to that history today.

“They’re good friends, and they’d been talking about the next female to win the Melbourne Cup, and it was her mate Jamie Melham,” Wilson said about Payne and Melham.
