Vulnerable Victorians set for power bill pain

The decision to shut Loy Yang power plant early will contribute significantly to the average Victorian power bill doubling in cost over the next decade, says the Institute of Public Affairs.
Daniel Wild, Deputy Executive Director Institute of Public Affairs, told Tom Elliott it could increase even more.
“And it’s not going to be your billionaires like Mike Cannon-Brookes (who feel the cost), it won’t be your wealthy, inner-city elites, because they can absorb these costs,” he said.
“It’s working families and small businesses, in the outer suburbs and regions of Victoria, that will incur this cost.”
