Warnings retail electricity prices are about to soar

The cost of retail electricity will jump by “at least” 10 per cent after July 1, the co-founder of solar company Smart Energy has warned.

Despite claims from both major parties that prices won’t soar after the election, Jasper Boyschau told Tom Elliott it was all but certain.

“We have seen a huge increase in wholesale electricity prices,” he said.
