‘Waste of time’: Jacinta Price voices concerns on Labor’s intention to legislate the Voice

Northern Territory Country Liberal Party Senator, Jacinta Price, has voiced her concerns on the Labor government’s intention to legislate the Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
Despite the resounding rejection back in 2023, foreign minister Penny Wong thinks the Voice is inevitable in Australia, but Price thinks it’s a “waste of time and taxpayers’ dollars”.
“I truly believe their agenda is to legislate it, and that would be the wrong thing to do,” Price told Tom Elliott on 3AW Mornings.

“If you look to South Australia at the moment, their legislated Voice is an absolute basket case.”
The senator was also questioned on Peter Dutton’s Welcome to Country comments, whether she would consider a leadership role in the Liberal Party, and the cultural heritage laws at Mount Arapiles.

“It does cheapen what it’s supposed to be about, but it also cheapens what traditional culture is all about,” she said about Welcome to Country ceremonies being “overdone”.
