‘Watch and Act’ issued for Gippsland town due to chemical leak

Hazardous fumes are leaking from silos in the Gippsland township of Trafalgar.

Emergency VIC have issued the following warning:

‘Anyone located in Trafalgar should move indoors. Close all exterior doors, windows and vents and turn off heating and cooling systems.’

Roads have been closed as crews work on the scene at Waterloo Road. 

It’s believed chemicals are causing the interior of the silos to heat up.
