WATCH: Melbourne taxi driver insulted and abused by two men in Melbourne’s CBD

A 3AW Breakfast producer has filmed the moment a a taxi driver was abused and pushed by two men in Melbourne yesterday afternoon.

The confrontation happened on the corner of Spencer and Collins streets.

The two men attempted to take open alcoholic drinks into the taxi before the cab driver told them they couldn’t, that’s when the men flipped.

3AW Producer Brianna Travers filmed the incident, she says she felt helpless.

‘You could just see it was building, as an onlooker I just didn’t know what to do, so I started filming it.’ ? Brianna told Ross and John.

Simon Purssey, Head of Client Services at 13CABS tells 3AW Breakfast the driver is fine, he’s just upset over the ordeal.

‘To capture that is great, but you really put yourself in harms way there.’ he tells Ross and John.

‘There is a small proportion that this sort of incident does happen, it’s horrific that is does happen and it shouldn’t happen to anyone in any work situation.’

Simon said his own family looked at the video and were ‘sickened’.
