A paramedic involved in the dramatic rescue of two people stuck in dangerous flood waters has spoken with Neil Mitchell.

A 25-year-old man and his 13-year-old sister were trapped in their ute at Inverleigh, near Geelong, on Wednesday night.

It was dark and water raged around them.

That’s when Stuart Hill came to the rescue.

He was winched down onto the hood of the ute and pulled the pair to safety.

‘It certainly wasn’t one of our winches out of the textbook,’ he told Neil Mitchell.

‘It was a unique situation.’
