‘We are irrelevant’: Tom Elliott criticises scaremongering by UN climate chief
Tom Elliott has accused the United Nations’ climate chief of scaremongering following a speech in Sydney where he warned Australia would be responsible for mega-droughts and face trillions in GDP losses by 2050.
The Mornings host says Australia only contributes around one per cent to annual emissions, and large-scale emitters like China far surpass Australia’s output.
“The reason why this is scaremongering, it is not based on logic or science, it is based on emotion … it won’t make any difference,” he said.
