‘We got that wrong’: Westpac CEO reveals the future of branch banking

The Westpac CEO has admitted to Tom Elliott the decision to close down branches was wrong.

Anthony Miller has reaffirmed Westpac’s commitment to keeping regional locations open, saying there’s still a role for branch banking.

“One of the challenges for us is how to continue to find that balance where we give people that branch access, but also give them that opportunity to do all of those sorts of things in the background,” he said.
