Tom Elliott has shared his concern for an impending fuel shortage in Australia as war in the Middle East continues.

The 3AW Mornings host was shocked to discover the Australian government’s lack of preparation, with only a limited fuel reserve compared to other countries.

“I have no doubt eventually this current crisis will pass and it may be sooner rather than later, but we should use that as an opportunity,” Elliott said, while confirming that towns around the country are beginning to run out of diesel.

CEO of the Victorian Transport Association, Peter Anderson, said to Tom Elliott “the sudden rise up to $1 a litre is absolutely abhorrent for our industry”.
