Former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark has called for reform and decriminalisation of a “small amount” of illicit drugs.

Ms Clark, who is the chair of the Global Commission on Drug Policy, visited the medically supervised injection room in North Richmond yesterday and was blown away by the care and support shown at the centre.

However, she believes “we haven’t got it right at the moment” in regards to drug testing and services, but is intrigued at what is occurring in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
