Weather bureau releases forecast for New Year’s Eve

Melbourne is unlikely to swelter on New Year’s Eve this year, with a predicted top of just 25 degrees.

The weather bureau has released its forecast for December 31 and January 1.

There’s a chance of rain on New Year’s Day, with a top of 24 degrees.
