John Clarke has died aged 68.

The well-known satirist passed away on Sunday while hiking in the Grampians National Park.

He died from natural causes.

The comedian and writer was a regular feature on Australian television, famous for his political send-ups and appearances on shows like Kath and Kim and The Lano and Woodley Show.

3AW’s Ross Stevenson co-wrote The Games with Clarke and paid tribute on Monday morning.

‘In my view, he was the greatest satirist in the English language,’ the 3AW Breakfast host said.

‘He was a wonderful man.’
