Werribee father reveals devastating impact violent crime has had on his family

A Werribee father whose two adult sons have been the victims of violent crime says it’s taken a heartbreaking toll on his family.

One of Tony’s sons was the victim of an armed robbery in Werribee last week, with three men allegedly producing knives and demanding he hand over his belongings. Detectives have charged three men in relation to the robbery.

He told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell, his other son was left on life support after an assault six years ago and “he’s never been the same person”.

“This just brought everything back for the whole family,” he said.

“I don’t think people like us get the support we should do.”
