Western Australia considers even harsher border restrictions with Victoria
The Premier of Western Australia says he’s keeping a close eye on Victoria’s surge in COVID-19 cases.
The state’s six-day rolling average is now above 500 cases a day.
Victoria is currently classified as “high risk” by WA.
But Mark McGowan says it could be upgraded to “extreme risk” in the coming days.
It means it would be virtually impossible to enter WA from Victoria, even with hotel quarantine.
Under WA’s rules, exemptions are restricted to Commonwealth, State and specialist functions only.
