Western Bulldogs rivalry with Adelaide heating up…

Things are heating up between the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide, with Dogs’ coach Luke Beveridge ‘disgusted’ by talk surrounding the umpiring of Saturday night’s thriller at Etihad Stadium.

The Crows were left asking questions following their defeat, with the Bulldogs winning 16 more free kicks on the night.

Beveridge said on Tuesday he found it ‘disgusting’ to public question umpires.

But Caroline Wilson said on Sports Today the Bulldogs’ coach had gone too far.

The Dogs and Crows played in a nail-biting elimination final last season, which led to even more tension when the Talia brothers were investigated over claims they’d spoken about game-sensitive information.

‘Luke Beveridge has been fantastic but he’s overreacted here,’ she said on Sports Today.

‘He shouldn’t have used that word – disgusting.

‘All Don Pyke said was that the club was going to ask questions.

‘He wasn’t saying that the umpires lacked integrity, or that there was overt bias – he wanted to ask some questions about free kicks Adelaide didn’t get.’
