Western security partnership cracks down on China’s technology theft
The intelligence chiefs of the Five Eyes security partnership, which includes Australia, are cracking down on China’s theft of western technology, which they say is rampant.
Senior analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute Malcolm Davis says China is determined to be a “dominant power”, and the concerns center around measures China has taken to gain access to things such as intellectual property.
“The focus in the 21st century for power is not… industrial power… it’s advanced technology such as quantum artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous systems, those sorts of things,” he said.
