Western suburbs residents lash out at Western Landfill plan at Ravenhall

Those living in Melbourne’s western suburbs say they are furious with the government’s new waste management plan which would see more garbage dumped in the area.

Under the blueprint, the Western Landfill at Ravenhall would take on more of Victoria’s waste.

But Marion Martin, former Sunshine Mayor and ‘Stop the Tip’ activist, told 3AW Drive the area was already pulling its fair share and shouldn’t become a ‘dumping ground’ for the rest of Victoria.

‘We’re really angry about this,’ she said.
