Westpac wants 20 percent of its leadership team to be of Asian descent

At the moment, 13 percent of people in leadership positions at Westpac are of Asian descent.

Westpac is hoping to increase that number to 20 percent. 

The Chief Executive of Westpac Brian Hartzer spoke with 3AW Mornings. 

He said the company wanted their leadership team to continue to reflect the demographics of the Australian population. 

‘This is not about putting people  in jobs that they don’t deserve. This is about saying: here is our aspiration.’
