What a survey found about alcohol consumption at footy matches
A pilot survey has found AFL fans consume more alcohol when a match beings in the early afternoon.
Senior researcher at the centre for alcohol policy research at La Trobe University, Amy Pennay says the results were interesting.
“What we did is we measured drinking before and after the game as well as during it, so there was a lot of post-match drinking after earlier games,” she told Mark Allen and Jimmy Bartel, filling in for Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft.
