What Australia topped a global list for last year

Australia has topped a global list for shark attack fatalities, making up 40 per cent of deaths worldwide last year.

Director of the Florida Program for Shark Research, Gavin Naylor, said Australia’s fatal shark attacks were “particularly noticeable” in the past year.

Mr Naylor did however claim Australia has probably got the “best beach safety anywhere in the world”.
