Pressure is growing on the state government to establish a second supervised drug injecting facility, with new data revealing a spike in heroin-related overdoses in the CBD.

But Tom Elliott said, once again, only the rights of drug users were being considered and not those with businesses or other “law-abiding” citizens.

A report due to be handed down in 2020 is still being finalised but is widely expected to recommend the former Yooralla building on Flinders Street as the “best” site.
