A Vietnam veteran says he fears a growing number of Australians have “no idea” what soldiers went through before, during and after the Vietnam war.

It is Vietnam Veterans Day on Thursday.

Vince rang Neil Mitchell on Wednesday, expressing his concerns.

“What I want our countrymen to know, before we all die, is what happened,” he said.

“I know it’s of little interest to modern Australia, but to us it is five minutes ago the memories are so real,” he said.

“I want everyone to just know what actually transpired over there and what Australian soldiers went through.”
