What happened when Norway abruptly scrapped coronavirus restrictions

The Norwegian government abruptly announced last Friday most of the country’s remaining coronavirus restrictions would be scrapped and life in the nation of 5.3 million people would return to normal.
“Every restriction disappeared and we are now a free people – we can do what we want!” Nina Kristiansen, Editor in Chief of ScienceNorway.no, told 3AW Breakfast.
But it led to chaos.
Police in Norway reported dozens of disturbances and violent clashes as people returned to bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
“Everybody has been so fed-up,” Nina said.
More than 76 per cent of Norway’s population has received one COVID-19 vaccine dose, and nearly 70 per cent have had both shots, according to official figures.
