What is and isn’t appropriate to ask of employees outside work hours

The court case between independent MP Dr Monique Ryan and her chief-of-staff Sally Rugg has sparked a wider conversation about what is and isn’t acceptable when it comes to expectations of employees in the workplace.

Dr Libby Sander, Assistant Professor of Organisational Behaviour at Bond University, told 3AW Mornings it was crucial employees were able to “switch off” and avoid burnout.

“It’s not good for anyone, it’s not sustainable,” she said.
