Tom Elliott has accused Jacinta Allan of “deliberately misleading” Victorians, relating to the state’s bail laws.

It comes after the 3AW Mornings host revisited a snippet of his interview with the Premier yesterday, as well as going into the updated bail guide by the Judicial College of Victoria called “The Bail Bench Book”.

“This logic is ridiculous, it’s reprehensible, I think we’ve been lied to,” he said.

Criminal lawyer at Armstrong Legal, Jonathan Brancato, then responded to Tom Elliott’s questions on the state’s bail laws.

“I do think we have the toughest bail laws in Australia … certainly I’ve noticed at least it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get bail for offenders,” Mr Brancato said.
