What makes Andrew Colvin tick
Andrew Colvin says he always had a “service calling”.
The former head of Australia’s federal police force has undoubtedly helped preserve the lives of many Australians over the years.
He was this week’s guest on Neil Mitchell’s “What Makes You Tick” segment.
Mr Colvin said his journey began when he left home at 17 to join the army.
“I think I always had a service calling,” he said.
He said he was “most proud” of his efforts in the response to the Bali bombings.
And he also shared his concerns about the current pressures on police.
“There will be a lot of police out there at the moment thinking this is not what they signed up for,” Mr Colvin said.
