What makes Ann Peacock tick
Ann Peacock had a fascinating upbringing.
The Crown general manager of community and charity grew up with a father who was leader of the Liberal Party, and a fashion icon and high-profile journalist for a mother.
When her parents divorced during her childhood, Ann realised the downside to coming from a high-profile family.
“I remember the newspaper was hidden from us that next morning,” she told Neil Mitchell.
“As we drove into the city we passed by the Herald and Weekly Times building and there was the big banners of the day’s newspaper … saying they’d separated.
“We did a big U-turn and went straight home.”
She also shared the questionable dish her mother taught her to cook when she moved out of home.
“It’s a pretty good go to when you’re having people around!,” Ann insisted.
“She (Ann’s mother Susan Renouf) served it to the Papua New Guinea prime minister Michael Somare!”
