What the new recycle tax means for consumers

The recycling industry has accused the Labor government of forcing a levy onto them with concerns they’ll have to pass the levy onto consumers.

Chief executive officer of the National Waste and Recycling Industry Council, Rick Ralph, says the levy will impact recycling exports.

“The privilege of recovering the material and exporting it to bona fide markets … the government regulation will require some oversight,” he told Tom Elliott.
