What the scrapping of a second injection room means for those it was meant to help
The Allan government has scrapped plans for a second injecting room in the CBD, instead announcing an action plan, including a community health service at 244 Flinders Street.
Harm reduction peer worker, Baden Hicks, says the government is not doing enough to help those struggling.
“We need the medically supervised overdose prevention centre and we need the hydromorphone,” he told Tom Elliott.

3AW state political reporter, Stefanie Waclawik, says the health service will be a two-year trial.
“It’s expected to treat about 60 seriously addicted heroin users who have been resistant to treatment so far,” she said.
