The secretary of the Victorian Police Association has claimed mandatory work-from-home policies would make it harder to recruit future police officers and would be more dangerous.

Wayne Gatt has told Ross and Russ that the government needs to think long-term when they start to legislate.

Press PLAY to hear his concerns

“If 95 per cent of the community … have a legislative right to be able to do that. But we say to police workers, ‘hey, you can’t because your job, you know you can’t work the DV van in your onesie from home, right?’ he said.

“They’ll think differently about a career in policing”.
