King Charles III will be formally proclaimed Britain’s new monarch on May 6.

The elaborate ceremony will begin at 11am London time and will be broadcast live from 5pm (AEDT) on Channel 9. We’ll also be streaming the coronation live via a special pop-up feed from 6.45pm (AEDT) on the 3AW website.

Royal expert and former BBC royal correspondent, Jennie Bond, says the coronation will be “pretty different in many respects”.
