What to expect from the Cleo Smith interview on 60 Minutes
60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown has revealed Cleo Smith’s family is still being “bombarded” with hate and accusations they were somehow involved in her disappearance.
Cleo’s mother and step-father have broken their silence in an interview with Channel 9, which airs on Sunday.
Tara Brown gave Neil Mitchell an insight into the people they are, and how they’re holding up after the ordeal.
Cleo was found alive and safe in the bedroom of a house 75 kilometres away from where she’d been taken.
A man has been accused of abducting the four-year-old, with that matter now before the courts.
“They still have a sense of bewilderment that they’ve been through this,” Tara Brown said on 3AW.
She said the interview also featured the “spine-tingling” moment they learned Cleo was alive.
But it certainly hasn’t been smooth sailing since.
“As they’re trying to get over it, as they’re trying to heal and help their daughter, they’re still being bombarded by messages of hate, allegations that they were somehow involved,” she told Neil Mitchell.
“That’s what they’re dealing with.”
