Tom Elliott has one question after observing what took place outside AAMI Park in the lead-up to Saturday night’s sold-out A-League Grand Final between Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City.

Police say multiple flares were thrown and one officer allegedly assaulted in the lead-up to the much-anticipated clash, which City won 1-0.

“It looks like those police were needed,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“Predictably, there was a lot of bad behaviour.”
