Frankston Mayor Kris Bolam has recently returned from a 19-day trip to visit the council’s sister cities with a bold plan for his council.

“It is a council, and councils should be first and foremost concerned about the roads, the rubbish and the rates,” the 3AW Mornings host said.
“It is extraordinary, I mean, what does he think Penny Wong does? She is the Minister of Foreign Affairs; it’s her job.”
Spokesperson for Council Watch, Dean Hurlston, then said “councils need to pull their heads out of their backsides on this one”.
“What the bloody hell are councils doing running junkets overseas?” Mr Hurlston said to Tom Elliott.
