As crime continues to skyrocket in Melbourne, Tom Elliott has suggested we learn from several American states in regards to their judicial system.

The 3AW Mornings host referenced top cop Mike Bush’s plan to combat crime in Melbourne on 3AW Drive yesterday, stating it’s only “part of the solution”.

“There’s other things we’ve got to do,” Elliott said.

Former magistrate, David Heilpern, then debated with the 3AW Mornings host on how youth offenders should be treated, and what can be done in the judicial system.

“There’s a much simpler solution,” Professor Heilpern said.
