“When Footscray win a Grand Final, I’ll take you to Disney Land.”

A family aboard a flight from LAX to Melbourne have told 3AW of their horror when they noticed sparks coming from the engine.

Emma and her family were on flight QF94 that suffered an engine failure mid-flight last week, forcing it to return to LAX.

Emma told Neil Mitchell she was in row 82 and had a clear view of sparks coming out of the engine.

“My husband saw it, I refused to look outside as I was truly frightened and trying not to think the worst,” she said.

Thankfully, Emma and her family landed safely back in Melbourne on Tuesday.

And on a lighter note, 30 years ago Emma’s dad promised her a trip to Disney Land when Footscray win the flag.

And that day finally came when the Bulldogs won the 2016 AFL Premiership.

All twelve family members hopped aboard a plane a few weeks ago and set off to meet Mickey Mouse.
