When the next Pope is expected to be elected this week

A leading Bishop says the upcoming conclave looms as an unpredictable one.
The process to appoint Pope Francis’ successor begins on Wednesday, as cardinals from around the world meet in the Sistine Chapel.
Bishop Shane Mackinlay told Ross and Russ the conclave could be more unpredictable because most cardinals haven’t taken part in a conclave before.

“The conclaves over the last few popes have tended to be concluded by the third day,” he said on 3AW.
“On past practice, it could be (decided) by late Friday for us, but it’s a bit unpredictable as 80 per cent of these cardinals have never been part of a conclave before.”
