‘Where are the priorities?’: Why Tom Elliott has taken Jim Chalmers to task

Tom Elliott has questioned Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ priorities amid the saga involving the communications minister Anika Wells’ expenses.

And it comes after an investment from the federal government which the 3AW Mornings host has labelled a “bit weird”.

“Where are the priorities Mr Chalmers?” Elliott asked.

“Has the government got your back? I don’t think so.”

Chief economist and co-founder of MacroBusiness, Leith van Onselen, then highlighted the “underlying problem” with the federal government’s spending.

“We just simply should not be providing money for this,” Mr van Onselen said.
