Why a business leader wants Melbourne to ‘own’ Christmas

A business leader is calling on Melbourne to become Australia’s Christmas destination in a bid to boost visitation and revitalise the city.

Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Paul Guerra says decorations in the CBD this year are lacking, and it’s costing our city.

“We can’t own New Year’s Eve, Sydney has that and they do it so well … If we can’t own that, let’s own Christmas,” he told Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen, filling in for Ross and Russel.
