Why a fake cannabis shop has popped up in Fitzroy

A bold plan highlighting how legalising cannabis could work has been launched in Melbourne’s north, drawing mixed reactions.

A mock cannabis story has been set up on Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, designed to inform the community on how the drug could be legally sold.

Penington Institute CEO John Ryan said there was plenty of merit to the forward-thinking plan.

“This is a way of trying to explain what a regulated cannabis market shop might look like,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
