A planning expert has added his name to the long list of people calling on Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan to “ditch” the Suburban Rail Loop.
An Ombudsman report has found the $125 billion rail project lacked “rigorous” independent scrutiny, and risked wasting taxpayer money.
RMIT Professor of Environment and Planning Michael Buxton says the project is a “bad idea” and would be a smart move for Allan to “ditch” the project altogether.
