Why Alphington residents are fed up with the Yarra City Council

Alphington residents have become angry with the Yarra City Council, due to parking limits and lack of services, despite paying around $10 million in rates revenue each year.

Alphington resident, Sharryn Pottenger, claims she can’t have visitors over due to demolished carparks in her area and is fed up with the council.

“What we’re paying in rates, we get nothing back from the council that affects us or helps us,” Ms Pottenger told Tom Elliott.

Some residents are even considering seceding and becoming a part of the Darebin Council!
