A transport expert says people are being too hard on the Myki system after Premier Jacinta Allan was grilled by Tony Jones on 3AW Mornings about the system.

Chief executive officer of Hale Infra Strategy. Dr Chris Hale told Shane McInnes, Melbourne’s system is only four or five years behind world-leading cities such as London and Singapore, while Sydney has invested hundreds of billions into their Opal system.

“It’s a discussion we could have that can’t be absent of the cost that these high-end, sophisticated systems,” he said.
