Why Ange Postecoglou has ‘no interest’ in latest contract speculation
Ange Postecoglou says he’s not interested in speculation Celtic will offer him a long-term deal after the Australian took Scottish soccer by storm this year.
Postecoglou joined 3AW on Thursday night to discuss his incredible first season in the Scottish Premiership that saw Celtic claim the title under his watch.
Postecoglou was handed a one-year rolling contract when he was initially signed with the club last year.
Following a hugely successful debut season in charge, there are now reports Celtic will look to secure Postecoglou on a long-term deal.
“I’ve never worried about that,” he told 3AW.
“Long-term contracts in coaching really mean absolute jack, as anybody will tell you.”
Postecoglou covered a range of issues on 3AW, including Australia’s underappreciation for what Tom Rogic has achieved at Celtic, as well as the Socceroos’ current struggles to secure a World Cup spot.
And he couldn’t resist slotting a mention in for his beloved Carlton Blues at the end of the interview!
