Archie Thompson is confident Australia will make the World Cup.

The Socceroos just need to beat Honduras in Sydney to reach the 2018 competition, and Thompson is tipping that to happen.

The Socceroo legend told Sportsday the Syrian team Australia beat in the last round of qualification is “ten times” better than Honduras.

“There wasn’t too much from the Honduran side that you says they’ll be a threat on Wednesday night,” Thompson said.

Thompson said he was surprised that key player Tim Cahill travelled to Honduras through an ankle injury.
