Why Australia could soon be hit by an aluminum shortage

Jacqui Felgate

Australia could soon be hit by an aluminum shortage that’s impacting Britain and other parts of the world.

And there are two major factors driving it.

The Pie Association of Britain has gone as far as to tell pie makers to reuse the tin foil they use for their dishes due to the issue.

Jack Malki, Managing Director of Jet Industries, said power shortages in China and shipping issues meant worldwide productive of aluminum, used in many different industries, had been slashed by as much as 50 per cent.

“Those two things are causing absolute mayhem,” he said.
