Why Australians are reconsidering their summer travel plans
Uncertainty about Omicron and a lack of trust in government is forcing Australians to reconsider their travel plans over the summer holidays, according to a new survey.
Just six per cent of the 1500 people surveyed across Australia said they were “really confident” about making travel arrangements.
Almost 70 per cent of respondents said short notice lockdowns, combined with lack of consistency when it comes to rules across Australia, had impacted their confidence the most.
Margy Osmond, Transport and Tourism Forum CEO, told 3AW Drive a lot of the responses came as a surprise.
“We were hoping people were starting to feel more comfortable,” she said.
