Australia’s greatest basketballer has a word of warning for anybody thinking she’ll be just as dominant as she once was when she makes a shock return to the court at the age of 40.

“I’m not going to be brilliant, that’s a given,” Lauren Jackson told Neil Mitchell on Thursday.

Jackson will make her return with the Albury-Wodonga Bandits in the second-tier NBL1 in April, some six years after she retired.

Why?

“You only live once,” the three-time WNBA MVP said.

“I’m feeling fantastic, at the moment.”

Jackson has lost a significant amount of weight in her bid to return to the court, also crediting medicinal cannabis for managing her post-career injury pain.
