The CEO of Infrastructure Victoria says blaming CBD congestion on bike lanes is “flawed” logic.

Drivers are growing increasingly frustrated at the number of bike lanes cutting into road space.

But Dr Jonathan Spear pointed out congestion would not ease if those lanes were removed.

“When you get some cars off the road, everybody benefits,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“And you don’t get cars off the road unless you’ve got good choices and good alternatives.”
